Youth Cinema Society A cinema group dedicated to the scholarship and investigation of classic films as well as present day movies. Join us at our new website- launching on Monday September 29th WWW.lacinemayouth.com Facebook Group Youth Cinema Society We attend events at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, USC, UCLA, LA Opera, MOCA, LACMA, REDCAT, The Getty, AFI International Film Festival and many other venues throughout the Los Angeles region. | Shakespeare in the Park Presents The Tempest Our Time Has Changed! We will now be meeting in the small classroom at EIE Fridays at 11:00 beginning October 10th We will not meet on CAL TECH days out of respect for Nancy Hammond and the fact that my kids are going too. This year’s class will require a fee of $15 a month for playbooks and materials fees. I will purchase the playbooks from EIE. |
| LA Opera Club Sponsored by Los Angeles Opera Stacy Brightman Ph.D., Director of Educational Programming and Jill Burnham, Educational Manager An ideal activity during or after school, an Opera Club enhances any arts curriculum by giving students the opportunity to expand their study and appreciation of opera. Opera Clubs can enjoy visits from an LA Opera staff member at club meetings for a variety of fun and educational activities. Opera Club participants are also eligible for special benefits, including visits from LA Opera artists, complimentary dress rehearsal and/or performance tickets when available. DAY AT THE OPERA Opera Club participants are invited to spend a day at the opera and get a behind the scenes look at the company including meeting LA Opera artists and production staff, enjoying a backstage tour, and even participating in a fun opera quiz! EIE Academy Fridays at 12:00 Small Classroom Beginning October 10th October 17th there will be a special presentation from the LA Operas Speakers Bureau.
