PARK DAY

EiE Seminars 2015-16

Marty and Carolyn provide the entire Homeschool community the opportunity to attend
monthly evening seminars designed to enhance the positive homeschool experience for
your family.  Each year we try to weave a theme and this year it is to encourage our
attendees to better understand the philosophy of Dr. Raymond Moore, the Jefferson
Education Model, the teachings John Gatto and John Holt as well as the importance of
Learning Styles..

For the 2015-16 school year we will be presenting our seminars on Thursday evenings
from
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Our fee to attend is a free will donation with a suggested
amount of $5.00 per person. There will be a container for the donations to be
deposited.  We do not track who donates since we would rather you attend the seminar
than forgo it for financial considerations.  For the most part these seminars are
scheduled for the third Thursday evening of the month, with a break in December.

ADDED BONUS:  20% DISCOUNT ON ANY NEW ITEM (EXCEPT TEXTBOOKS)
FOR ALL ATTENDEES.

Marty has been speaking on this subject for many years at various seminars as well as

component beyond the financial contribution he provides.  A hidden treasure that so
many families have not tapped into are the contributions of grandparents, even those
that have serious reservations about your decision to homeschool.  Learn how to involve
them and give them some ownership in the process.  Guaranteed to be a very beneficial
evening.

Do you realize that it takes up to 400 repetitions for a child to learn a process or
concept.  UGH!  Here is the good news:  through play and games the number of
repetitions can be reduced to about 12 or less.  Come to our Game Curriculum seminar
and learn how to make your homeschool time investment less and increase your
satisfaction and happiness factor at the same time.

THURSDAY APRIL 21, 2016
7:00 - 9:00 PM
"HOW LEGISLATION AFFECTS HOMESCHOOLING"

Traditionally California has been an easy place to homeschool and we have become
somewhat complacent with our security in this respect.  Spend an evening with Marty
and Carolyn as we discuss current and future legislation that will have a great influence
on homeschooling and parental rights.  We must be constantly aware of what
Sacramento and Washington are doing in respect to our liberty to homeschool and
parent as we see fit.  EiE has always been on the front lines with these issues and
Marty's participation with CHN and the Legislative Committee has kept us well aware of
the potential negative repercussions of the actions of Sacramento particularly.

THIS FINALIZES THE 2015-16 SEMINAR SCHEDULE.
